Christine Shilda receives state-wide recognition
Shilda is the recipient of Care Providers of Minnesota’s Executive Director of the Year award
Christine Shilda, Executive Director, SilverCreek on Main, is the recipient of the 2020 Executive Director of the Year award, one of ten awards presented by Care Providers of Minnesota, a membership association representing senior care providers.
The prestigious award recognizes the achievements of an individual at the leadership level for their leadership contributions and skills. Nominated by peers, the nominee is evaluated on how the he or she is valued as a leader in their organization; how the nominee teaches or demonstrates skills that are practical and relevant to the senior care profession; how the nominee motivates and inspires leaders and caregivers to improve quality and excellence; and how the nominee has influenced others to excellence.
With a competitive pool of nominations, Christine was chosen due to her unflappable ability to lead—in all types of circumstances, including leading during a pandemic. Commented Heidi Schneider, Marketing Director, “Christine has a confident can-do attitude and gives 100%. Leadership and confidence is felt and her team knows she will see us safely through to the end of COVID. Families feel comfort and care via her presence throughout the community and via communications.”
“Christine has been with the company for over 14 years, and this is a manifestation of loyalty—a great quality of an excellent leader,” commented Gladys Aakre, Director of Homecare Services. “Having been in the business of homecare for over two decades and having the opportunity to work with six executive directors, I find Christine the best executive director I have ever worked with. Her ability to lead her team in times of crises, while maintaining a calm demeanor, has made us survive plenty of challenges. She truly is the best boss ever.”
Shilda would have been presented with her award at an annual state convention for long-term care providers—in front of 2,000 of her peers. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, this type of large recognition was not possible. However staff at SilverCreek on Main were able to surprise Christine with an award presentation at a more intimate setting…..
